  2.                     SERVICES AND OFFERS FROM MEGADISC
  3.                     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  5.      As many of you have realized by now, MEGADISC is committed to 
  6.      providing a good, low-cost information service for the Amiga 
  7.      community. This magazine is the flagship of our effort, but we are
  8.      keen to expand our services, and this depends primarily on you
  9.      buying the disc, so that we can continue our efforts. 
  10.  
  11.      Services already available to our readers are:
  12.  
  13.    1. Copies of the entire Fish Disk library, along with other 
  14.       public domain discs, such as the Casa Amiga series, and 
  15.       a variety of software sent to us by our local and overseas
  16.       contacts.
  17.       These include -
  18.             * Dave Wecker's RAY-TRACING PROGRAMS, which
  19.               create graphics such as were used for the
  20.               "Juggler" animation demo.
  21.             * RAY-TRACE PICTURES set up for instant viewing. 
  22.             * JUGGLER animation demo.
  23.             * Two discs devoted to TRUE BASIC with a 
  24.               large number of demo programs and docs.
  25.             * Perry Papadopoulos' "Trip to Mars" full-
  26.               disc animation, a short section of which
  27.               was on MEGADISC1.
  28.             * A number of ART DISCS by local artists.
  29.  
  30.       Also available is a Catalogue on disc for the Fish Disk 
  31.       series, worth getting so that you can browse through at 
  32.       will and decide which of the 53 now available you'd like
  33.       to get.
  34.  
  35.    2. We have prepared some "Theme Discs" of Public Domain 
  36.       software, and there will be more available according to 
  37.       demand, so tell us what you'd like to have.
  38.       Currently available are:

  40.          * A disc containing all the best COMMUNICATIONS
  41.            programs, with documents - they are excellent
  42.            and work as well as any commercial stuff. 
  43.          * GRAPHICS DEMOS #1- a collection of the best graphics
  44.            demo programs written for the Amiga.
  45.          * A FONTS disc, with dozens of Public Domain 
  46.            fonts, documents, how-to articles, etc. Jazz
  47.            up your screen and printed output. See the 
  48.            article on fonts in this issue.
  49.          * MANDELBROT SET EXPLORER with original graphics
  50.            (& slideshow) such as you can see in the ArtGallery
  51.            on MEGADISC2. Mostly unexplored territory, and 
  52.            beautiful too.
  53.          * PAGESETTER demo - see if you want to buy this
  54.            excellent program (check article on Desktop Publishing).
  55.          * AEGIS DRAW DEMO - only the "SAVE" option is disabled.
  56.          * AMIGABASIC programs disc - all kinds of things.
  57.          * ABASIC programs disc - this was the Basic originally
  58.            packaged with the Amiga, and quite a lot of good 
  59.            programs have been written for it.
  60.          * ANIMATIONS disc - a number of animations made on 
  61.            Aegis Animator and placed in the Public Domain, with
  62.            the PLAYER utility.
  63.          * SHOP DEMO ANIMATION - a long animation prepared as a
  64.            demo for the capabilities of the Amiga.
  65.          * MONOPOLY - a graphics-oriented game in ABASIC.
  66.          * ABASIC GAMES DISC - Contains 4 excellent games by David 
  67.            Addison: Cribbage, Backgammon, Othello, and Solitaire.
  68.          * CASA AMIGA DISK #2 - with XLISP programming language,
  69.            and a lot of useful utilities.
  70.          * CASA AMIGA DISK #3 - with MVP-FORTH programming language,
  71.            some fonts, and a number of useful utilities.
  72.          * B.E.S.T. Accountancy program demo.
  73.          * CAR DRIVING TUTORIAL - A Talking slide-show to explain more
  74.            about your car.
  75.          * P.C.L.O. DESIGN BOARD demo - aid in designing circuit 
  76.            diagrams, RAM boards, etc.

  78.    3. We have designed a MEGADISC poster and a variety of T-shirts
  79.       of the very highest quality, which are available now. If 
  80.       you want to order a T-shirt, don't forget to include your
  81.       size in your order.

  83.    4. BACK ISSUES: if this is your first copy of MEGADISC, take a
  84.       look at "MD1.Index" in this drawer, which briefly describes 
  85.       the contents of that disc, much of which is indispensable to
  86.       the Amiga user. Ordering a copy will also qualify you for 
  87.       the great MEGADISC giveaway, details of which are in 
  88.       "MDOffer" in this drawer.

  110.    5. CONSULTANCY AND TRAINING - It has become increasingly obvious
  111.       to us that many Amiga users are first-time computer users or
  112.       are coming to the Amiga from a primitive system, and need 
  113.       further explanations, training, and so forth. Others can see
  114.       the possibilities of the machine in various areas, like 
  115.       Desktop Publishing or Video, but are unsure of how to integrate
  116.       and use the system for these purposes. In view of this, we 
  117.       have decided to offer further services in the form of Training
  118.       and Consultancy, if required - in accordance with our policy 
  119.       of putting people in touch with one another, we will do our 
  120.       best to organize these services for those requiring them. 
  121.       Already a good number of people are on our books and available
  122.       for these purposes, so if you think you'd benefit from them,
  123.       please enquire by letter to our address.
